Job Description

Hiring.zycto is actively seeking a dedicated and culturally sensitive Part-Time Inuit Language Interpreter to join our dynamic team, based in the vibrant community of Rothesay, New Brunswick. This pivotal role involves facilitating seamless communication between individuals speaking Inuktitut (or a relevant Inuit dialect) and English, ensuring accurate, impartial, and culturally appropriate interpretation across a diverse range of professional and community settings. You will be instrumental in bridging linguistic and cultural divides, empowering individuals to access essential services, understand complex information, and participate fully in discussions that profoundly impact their lives.

As an Inuit Language Interpreter with Hiring.zycto, you will operate within a flexible hybrid work model. This entails engaging in both remote assignments, utilizing secure virtual platforms, and undertaking occasional on-site engagements within Rothesay and the broader New Brunswick area. The scope of your work is broad and impactful, potentially involving critical interpretations in healthcare settings (e.g., doctor’s appointments, medical consultations), legal proceedings (e.g., court hearings, client meetings), educational conferences, social services consultations, or various community outreach events. Your exceptional ability to convey not just the literal meaning of words, but also the crucial nuances of tone, context, and underlying cultural implications, will be absolutely paramount to success in this role. We are deeply committed to fostering an environment where your linguistic expertise and invaluable cultural knowledge are not merely appreciated, but recognized as utterly essential to our mission of inclusive and effective communication for all.

This part-time opportunity offers a unique chance to make a profound and lasting difference in the lives of individuals and the fabric of our community. You will be expected to operate with the highest degree of professionalism, maintaining strict confidentiality, and upholding unwavering impartiality in all your interactions. We are specifically looking for an individual who possesses not only deep fluency in both Inuktitut and English but also an innate cultural awareness and sensitivity to the unique linguistic, social, and historical contexts of Inuit communities. Your dedicated work will directly support individuals as they navigate often-complex systems, providing them with the clarity, understanding, and confidence they need to advocate for themselves and thrive. Hiring.zycto champions diversity, promotes equity, and firmly believes in the transformative power of language to unite, educate, and uplift. If you are deeply passionate about linguistic accuracy, committed to cultural advocacy, and driven by the desire to empower communities, we wholeheartedly encourage you to apply and become a vital link in fostering stronger, more equitable connections across New Brunswick. Join us in making truly accessible communication a reality for everyone.
