Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate and assess new business applications and renewal submissions to determine insurability and appropriate risk classification.
- Analyze financial statements, claims history, industry data, and other relevant information to accurately gauge risk exposure.
- Apply critical thinking and sound judgment to make informed underwriting decisions in accordance with company guidelines and regulatory requirements.
- Determine appropriate coverage, terms, and pricing for insurance policies.
- Communicate underwriting decisions, rationale, and policy terms clearly and concisely to brokers and internal stakeholders.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with brokers, acting as a trusted advisor and supporting profitable portfolio growth.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with sales, claims, actuarial, and product development teams.
- Stay informed about market trends, emerging risks, competitive landscapes, and regulatory changes in the insurance industry.
- Identify and recommend process improvements to enhance underwriting efficiency and effectiveness.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 3 years of proven experience as an Underwriter in the insurance industry.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a meticulous attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, negotiation, and interpersonal abilities.
- Proficiency in risk assessment and pricing methodologies.
- Deep understanding of insurance products, policy wordings, and industry regulations.

Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
