Key Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee financial reporting, including the preparation of statutory accounts and management reports.
- Lead and coordinate internal and external audit preparations, ensuring all necessary documentation and information are readily available and accurate.
- Ensure comprehensive corporate tax, VAT, and PAYE compliance, preparing and submitting returns in a timely and accurate manner.
- Provide expert advice on tax implications for business decisions and identify opportunities for tax efficiencies.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and long-range financial planning processes.
- Develop, implement, and maintain robust financial controls and procedures to safeguard company assets.
- Support corporate finance activities, including financial modelling, due diligence for mergers and acquisitions, and investment appraisals.
- Liaise effectively with external auditors, tax advisors, and other financial partners.
- Provide insightful financial analysis to senior management to aid strategic decision-making.
- Stay updated with changes in accounting standards (IFRS/UK GAAP), tax legislation, and regulatory requirements.
Required Skills
- Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent professional qualification).
- Proven experience (minimum 3 years post-qualification) specifically in corporate finance, audit, and tax.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable insights.
- Excellent proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Xero) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Thorough knowledge of UK GAAP and IFRS accounting standards.
- Demonstrable understanding of UK corporate tax, VAT, and PAYE regulations.
