As an Accountant – Corporate Finance, Audit & Tax, you will be instrumental in maintaining the integrity of financial records, preparing comprehensive financial reports, and providing critical insights to support business growth and operational efficiency. Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, management accounts, and ad-hoc reports in accordance with IFRS/UK GAAP.
- Support corporate finance activities, including budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and financial modeling for strategic projects.
- Coordinate and assist with internal and external audit processes, preparing audit schedules, responding to inquiries, and ensuring compliance.
- Manage all aspects of corporate tax compliance, including preparing corporation tax returns, VAT returns, and other statutory tax filings.
- Stay updated on changes in accounting standards (IFRS/UK GAAP) and tax legislation, assessing their impact on the organization.
- Develop and implement robust internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Provide financial analysis and insights to support business decisions and identify areas for improvement.
- Liaise effectively with external auditors, tax advisors, and other regulatory bodies.
- Participate in process improvement initiatives within the finance department.
Required Skills
- ACCA, CIMA, or ACA qualification (or nearing completion)
- Minimum 3 years of progressive experience in an accounting role, with exposure to corporate finance, audit, and tax.
- Strong understanding of IFRS/UK GAAP and corporate tax principles.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Xero) and advanced Excel skills.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational abilities.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in a Big Four or mid-tier accounting firm.
- Knowledge of specific industry regulations relevant to our client's sector.
- Experience with financial modelling and scenario analysis.
- A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
