Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage all accounting transactions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant accounting standards.
  • Prepare budget and financial forecasts, and report on variances.
  • Publish financial statements in time, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
  • Handle monthly, quarterly, and annual closings.
  • Reconcile accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely payments and collections.
  • Ensure timely bank payments and general ledger postings.
  • Compute taxes and prepare tax returns, ensuring compliance with tax regulations.
  • Manage balance sheets and profit/loss statements.
  • Audit financial transactions and documents.
  • Strengthen data confidentiality and backup procedures.
  • Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external auditors.

Required Skills

  • Proven work experience as an Accountant or in a similar financial role.
  • Thorough knowledge of basic accounting procedures and principles.
  • Familiarity with financial accounting statements.
  • Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process.
  • Hands-on experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, SAP, Sage).
  • Advanced MS Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs).
  • Accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Aptitude for numbers and quantitative skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional certification (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, ACA) is a significant advantage.
  • Experience with international financial reporting standards (IFRS) or UK GAAP.
  • BSc in Accounting, Finance or relevant degree.
  • Familiarity with financial audit procedures.
