Key Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain the accounts receivable ledger, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information.
- Process and apply daily cash receipts, including checks, EFTs, and credit card payments.
- Generate and distribute customer invoices, statements, and aging reports promptly and accurately.
- Conduct regular collection calls and emails for overdue accounts, following up consistently.
- Reconcile customer accounts, resolve discrepancies, and investigate payment variances.
- Collaborate with internal departments (sales, customer service) to resolve billing and payment issues.
- Prepare and analyze accounts receivable aging reports, highlighting potential risks and opportunities.
- Assist with month-end closing procedures related to accounts receivable.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation of all customer interactions and collection activities.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives for AR processes and procedures.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 2 years of direct experience in an Accounts Receivable role.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle NetSuite).
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and AR best practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, pivot tables).
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proven ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated problem-solving capabilities and a proactive approach.
Preferred Qualifications
- Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Experience with an ERP system implementation or upgrade.
- Certification or courses in credit and collections management.
- Bilingualism (English and French) is considered an asset.
