Job Description

Hiring.zycto is seeking a dedicated and experienced Adult Educator to join our team on a contract basis, serving the vibrant community of Danforth Village-East York, Toronto. Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and update engaging, outcome-based curriculum and lesson plans specifically tailored for adult learners.
  • Deliver high-quality, interactive instruction using a variety of pedagogical approaches, including lectures, workshops, group activities, and technology-enhanced learning.
  • Assess learner progress and provide timely, constructive feedback to support their continuous development and achievement of learning outcomes.
  • Adapt teaching methods, materials, and pace to effectively accommodate diverse learning styles, cultural backgrounds, and varying skill levels within the classroom.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment that encourages active participation, critical thinking, and mutual respect.
  • Collaborate effectively with program coordinators and other team members to ensure program objectives are met and learner needs are addressed.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential records of attendance, learner progress, and performance, submitting reports as required by program guidelines.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience (minimum 3 years) in adult education, training, or instructional facilitation.
  • Strong understanding and application of adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills for clear instruction and effective feedback.
  • Proficiency in various teaching methodologies, classroom management techniques, and group facilitation.
  • Demonstrated ability to create engaging, accessible, and interactive learning materials.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport and trust with diverse groups of learners.
  • Competency in utilizing educational technology, presentation software, and online learning platforms.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education (Bachelor's or Master's degree) in Education, Adult Learning, Human Resources, or a related field.
  • Certification in Adult Education (e.g., Certificate in Adult Training and Development, TESL Canada certification if applicable).
  • Experience working with community-based educational programs or non-profit organizations.
  • Familiarity with local community resources and services within the Danforth Village-East York area of Toronto.
