Job Description

Hiring.zycto is seeking a dedicated and customer-focused Airline Check-in Agent to join our vibrant team in Stourbridge, supporting operations at a major nearby airport. As an Airline Check-in Agent – Passenger Support, you will be the first point of contact for passengers, playing a crucial role in shaping their travel experience from the moment they arrive. Your primary responsibility will be to manage the check-in process efficiently, accurately, and with an unwavering commitment to outstanding customer service. This involves verifying travel documents, issuing boarding passes, handling luggage, and addressing a variety of passenger inquiries and concerns with professionalism and empathy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Greet passengers warmly and provide a positive first impression.
  • Verify passenger travel documents, including tickets, passports, and visas, ensuring compliance with airline and country regulations.
  • Process passenger check-ins accurately and efficiently, issuing boarding passes and assigning seats.
  • Handle passenger luggage, including weighing, tagging, and ensuring adherence to baggage policies.
  • Assist passengers with special needs, including unaccompanied minors, passengers with reduced mobility, and those requiring additional assistance.
  • Provide accurate information regarding flight schedules, gates, delays, and cancellations.
  • Resolve passenger complaints and concerns professionally and courteously, escalating complex issues when necessary.
  • Operate airport systems and check-in software proficiently.
  • Adhere strictly to all aviation security protocols and safety procedures.
  • Collaborate effectively with airline staff, ground handling teams, and security personnel to ensure smooth operations.
  • Process payments for excess baggage or other ancillary services.

Required Skills

  • Proven customer service experience, preferably in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to issue resolution.
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to remain calm and effective under pressure.
  • Proficiency in basic computer systems and ability to quickly learn new software.
  • Ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends, holidays, and early mornings/late evenings.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in the aviation, travel, or hospitality industry.
  • Familiarity with airport operations and check-in procedures.
  • Ability to communicate in additional languages.
  • A valid UK driving license.
