Job Description
Hiring.zycto is actively seeking a highly motivated, meticulous, and experienced Analytical Chemist to enhance our vibrant laboratory team based in Cherry Street, Toronto. This crucial role places you at the heart of our operations, where you will be responsible for executing a broad spectrum of chemical analyses on various sample types – spanning raw materials, in-process intermediates, and final products. You will be instrumental in upholding the highest standards of data integrity and significantly contributing to the innovation, development, and rigorous validation of new analytical methodologies.

Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine and non-routine chemical analyses on a variety of samples (raw materials, in-process, finished products) using advanced analytical techniques such as HPLC, GC, FTIR, UV-Vis, AA, and Titration.
- Develop, validate, and optimize new analytical methods and procedures in strict adherence to regulatory guidelines (e.g., cGLP/cGMP) and industry best practices.
- Operate, calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot a wide array of laboratory instrumentation to ensure accuracy and reliability of results.
- Interpret complex analytical data, generate clear, concise, and accurate technical reports, and present findings to internal stakeholders.
- Ensure strict adherence to Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and all relevant health and safety regulations.
- Actively participate in out-of-specification (OOS) investigations, root cause analysis, and the implementation of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Collaborate effectively with Research & Development, Quality Assurance, and Manufacturing teams to support project milestones and resolve technical challenges.
- Maintain meticulous and comprehensive records of experiments, analytical results, method validation data, and instrument logs.
- Stay current with emerging analytical technologies, scientific literature, and regulatory changes to continuously enhance laboratory capabilities and ensure compliance.
Required Skills
- Proven proficiency in a diverse range of analytical chemistry techniques, including HPLC, GC, FTIR, and UV-Vis spectroscopy.
- Strong foundational understanding and practical application of cGLP/cGMP regulations and quality control principles.
- Demonstrated hands-on experience in analytical method development, validation, and transfer.
- Exceptional data analysis, interpretation, and technical report writing skills.
- Proficiency with Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) and chromatography data systems (CDS).
- Superior problem-solving abilities and an unwavering commitment to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work both independently with minimal supervision and collaboratively within a dynamic team environment.
- Solid understanding of statistical analysis applied to analytical data.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's or Ph.D. degree in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, or a closely related scientific discipline.
- Direct experience with Mass Spectrometry techniques (e.g., LC-MS, GC-MS).
- Prior experience within the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or environmental industries.
- Experience in project management or leading small analytical projects within a laboratory setting.
- Knowledge of statistical software packages for data analysis (e.g., Minitab, R, JMP).
