Key Responsibilities

  • Assist certified arborists with tree pruning, removal, and planting operations.
  • Operate and maintain various arboricultural equipment, including chainsaws, chippers, and stump grinders, under supervision.
  • Set up and maintain safe work zones, including traffic control and pedestrian management.
  • Perform routine equipment checks and basic maintenance to ensure operational readiness.
  • Drag and chip brush, clear debris, and maintain a clean and organized work site.
  • Learn and adhere strictly to all safety protocols and company policies.
  • Assist with the loading and unloading of equipment and materials.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development.

Required Skills

  • Strong work ethic and reliability.
  • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks in various weather conditions.
  • Willingness to learn and take direction.
  • Commitment to workplace safety.
  • Valid G Class Driver's License (or equivalent) with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to lift and carry heavy objects (up to 50 lbs).
  • Basic understanding of hand tools.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of basic tree identification.
  • First Aid and CPR certification.
  • Chainsaw safety certification.
  • DZ or ARZ Driver's License (an asset, but not required for initial hiring).
