Job Description
Hiring.zycto is seeking a highly skilled and creative Architect – Building Design & Planning to join our thriving practice in Hunslet, Leeds. This is an exceptional opportunity for a talented professional to contribute to a diverse portfolio of projects, ranging from residential developments and commercial spaces to public sector buildings. You will play a pivotal role in all stages of the architectural process, from initial concept generation and feasibility studies to detailed design, planning applications, and construction oversight.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage architectural projects from inception through to completion, ensuring adherence to client briefs, budget, and timelines.
- Develop innovative and sustainable design concepts, producing detailed drawings, specifications, and reports.
- Prepare and submit planning applications, liaising with local authorities and regulatory bodies.
- Conduct feasibility studies, site analysis, and master planning exercises.
- Oversee and mentor junior architectural staff, fostering a collaborative and productive team environment.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, including engineers, landscape architects, and contractors.
- Ensure all designs comply with relevant building regulations, health and safety standards, and environmental legislation.
- Present design proposals to clients and stakeholders, effectively communicating design intent and rationale.
- Manage project documentation, contracts, and financial aspects.
- Conduct site visits and inspections during construction phases to ensure design integrity and quality.
Required Skills
- RIBA Part 3 qualification or equivalent, and ARB registration.
- Minimum of 5 years post-qualification experience in an architectural practice.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite.
- Strong understanding of UK building regulations and planning policy.
- Demonstrable experience across various project types and scales.
- Excellent design and technical detailing skills.
- Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to manage projects independently and as part of a team.
- Full UK driving license and access to a vehicle.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with BIM (Building Information Modelling) workflows.
- Accreditation in sustainable design (e.g., LEED AP, BREEAM Assessor).
- Experience in client relationship management and business development.
