Hiring.zycto is actively seeking an experienced and highly motivated Architect to join our dynamic team in Woodseats, Sheffield. This pivotal role offers the opportunity to contribute significantly to a diverse portfolio of projects, ranging from residential and commercial developments to community and public sector buildings. We are looking for a creative individual with a strong technical understanding, excellent design sensibilities, and a proven track record in all stages of the architectural process, from conceptualisation through to project completion.

As an Architect – Building Design & Planning, you will be instrumental in turning ambitious visions into tangible realities. You will lead design development, prepare detailed architectural drawings and specifications, and ensure all designs comply with relevant building regulations and planning policies. Your expertise will guide projects from their initial feasibility studies and conceptual sketches to the intricate details of construction documentation and on-site supervision. Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design development from concept to detailed construction drawings.
  • Prepare and present design proposals to clients and stakeholders.
  • Ensure all architectural designs comply with local planning regulations, building codes, and safety standards.
  • Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources effectively.
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams, including structural engineers, M&E consultants, and landscape architects.
  • Produce detailed technical specifications and schedules.
  • Conduct site visits and inspections to monitor project progress and quality.
  • Mentor junior architectural staff and contribute to team development.
  • Liaise with local authorities for planning applications and building control approvals.
  • Stay abreast of new design trends, materials, and sustainable building practices.

Required Skills

  • RIBA Part III / ARB registered Architect
  • Minimum 5 years post-qualification experience in architectural practice
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator)
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating experience across various building typologies
  • Excellent understanding of UK building regulations and planning policies
  • Proven experience in project management and client liaison
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with sustainable design principles and BREEAM/LEED accreditation.
  • Proficiency in 3D rendering software (e.g., SketchUp, Rhino, V-Ray).
  • Experience working on projects in the Sheffield City Region.
  • Membership in relevant professional organisations (e.g., Sheffield Society of Architects).
