Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation of construction sites, including clearing debris, setting up safety barriers, and preparing surfaces for paving.
- Operate various hand and power tools safely and efficiently under supervision.
- Perform manual labor tasks such as raking, shoveling, and compacting asphalt.
- Help with the application and spreading of asphalt materials, ensuring even distribution and proper thickness.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to all safety protocols and regulations.
- Assist in the loading and unloading of construction materials and equipment.
- Learn and apply best practices for asphalt paving techniques and material handling.
- Collaborate effectively with team members, supervisors, and other trades on site.
- Perform general site maintenance and assist with equipment upkeep as required.
Required Skills
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks for extended periods, including lifting, bending, and standing.
- Strong work ethic and a positive, 'can-do' attitude.
- Willingness to learn and take direction from experienced crew members.
- Reliable transportation to the job site in Bathurst Quay, Toronto.
