Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation of construction sites, including clearing debris, setting up safety barriers, and preparing surfaces for paving.
  • Operate various hand and power tools safely and efficiently under supervision.
  • Perform manual labor tasks such as raking, shoveling, and compacting asphalt.
  • Help with the application and spreading of asphalt materials, ensuring even distribution and proper thickness.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to all safety protocols and regulations.
  • Assist in the loading and unloading of construction materials and equipment.
  • Learn and apply best practices for asphalt paving techniques and material handling.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members, supervisors, and other trades on site.
  • Perform general site maintenance and assist with equipment upkeep as required.

Required Skills

  • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks for extended periods, including lifting, bending, and standing.
  • Strong work ethic and a positive, 'can-do' attitude.
  • Willingness to learn and take direction from experienced crew members.
  • Reliable transportation to the job site in Bathurst Quay, Toronto.
  • Commitment to safety and adherence to all company and site safety policies.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Basic understanding of English for communication and safety instructions.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Valid G Class Driver's License with a clean driving record.
