Job Description

Hiring.zycto is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Assembler – Electronics to join our growing team in Mount Royal, Calgary. In this critical role, you will be instrumental in the assembly of a diverse range of electronic products, from circuit boards to complete electronic devices, ensuring the highest standards of quality and functionality.

As an Electronics Assembler, your day-to-day will involve interpreting blueprints, schematics, and work instructions to accurately assemble electronic components using a variety of hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment. You will be responsible for soldering components onto printed circuit boards, wiring harnesses, and performing mechanical assembly tasks with exceptional accuracy. This position requires a keen eye for detail to identify and correct any imperfections or defects, contributing directly to our reputation for superior product quality. You will work closely with our engineering and quality assurance teams, providing valuable feedback that can lead to process improvements and enhanced product reliability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assemble electronic components, sub-assemblies, and final products according to engineering specifications, blueprints, and work instructions.
  • Perform precise soldering (through-hole and surface mount technology) on printed circuit boards (PCBs).
  • Utilize a variety of hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment such as crimpers, strippers, and testing devices.
  • Conduct quality inspections of components and finished products to ensure adherence to strict quality standards and identify defects.
  • Test assembled products for functionality using established procedures and troubleshooting basic issues.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, adhering to all company safety policies and procedures.
  • Document assembly processes, maintain accurate records, and report any discrepancies or issues.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members, supervisors, and other departments to optimize production flow and quality.
  • Assist in the setup and calibration of assembly equipment as needed.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and product quality.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in electronic assembly or a similar manufacturing environment.
  • Strong manual dexterity and excellent hand-eye coordination for intricate work.
  • Proficiency in soldering techniques (SMT and through-hole).
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and assembly drawings.
  • Familiarity with various electronic components and their identification.
  • Basic understanding of quality control principles and practices.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Effective communication skills (verbal and written).

Preferred Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED; technical certification or diploma in electronics is an asset.
  • IPC-A-610 certification (Acceptability of Electronic Assemblies) or similar industry certification.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing principles.
  • Proficiency in using testing equipment (e.g., multimeters, oscilloscopes).
  • Previous experience with ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) sensitive components.
