Job Description
Hiring.zycto, on behalf of a leading academic institution within the vibrant Woodbine Corridor of Toronto, invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position. This role involves a balanced portfolio of teaching, research, and service. You will be responsible for designing and delivering courses, supervising graduate students, and contributing to curriculum development. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain an active, externally funded research program.
- Publish research findings in high-impact peer-reviewed journals and present at leading conferences.
- Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in your area of specialization, employing innovative pedagogical methods.
- Supervise and mentor graduate students (Master's and PhD) through their thesis and dissertation work.
- Participate actively in departmental, faculty, and university service activities, including committee work.
- Contribute to curriculum development and program innovation.
- Engage in interdisciplinary collaborations with colleagues across various departments and faculties.
- Seek and secure grant funding to support research activities.
- Maintain professional competence through continuous learning and engagement with the academic community.
Required Skills
- Ph.D. in a relevant academic discipline (e.g., Social Sciences, Humanities, STEM, Health Sciences, Business, etc.)
- Demonstrated potential for establishing an independent and externally funded research program.
- Strong record of peer-reviewed publications commensurate with experience.
- Evidence of teaching effectiveness at the university level.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a collegial and collaborative environment.
