Job Description

Hiring.zycto is seeking a passionate and skilled Audio Engineer to join our vibrant studio team in Castle Downs, Edmonton. Key Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain a wide range of audio equipment, including mixing consoles, microphones, preamplifiers, and outboard gear.
  • Record, mix, and master audio for various projects, including music, podcasts, voiceovers, and post-production.
  • Collaborate with artists, producers, and clients to understand project requirements and achieve desired sonic outcomes.
  • Perform meticulous audio editing, noise reduction, and sound enhancement tasks.
  • Set up microphones and monitor signal flow to ensure optimal sound capture.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to audio hardware and software in real-time.
  • Maintain studio cleanliness and organization, ensuring all equipment is properly stored and cared for.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, technologies, and best practices in audio engineering.

Required Skills

  • Proficiency with industry-standard Digital Audio Workstations (DAWs) such as Pro Tools, Logic Pro, or Ableton Live.
  • Strong understanding of acoustics, signal flow, and audio theory.
  • Demonstrable experience with microphone techniques and placement for various instruments and vocals.
  • Expertise in audio mixing and mastering processes, including EQ, compression, reverb, and delay.
  • Ability to troubleshoot audio equipment, software, and cabling issues effectively.
  • Excellent critical listening skills with a keen ear for detail and sonic quality.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective client and team collaboration.
  • Minimum of 3 years of professional experience as an Audio Engineer in a studio setting.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Degree or diploma in Audio Engineering, Music Production, or a related field.
  • Experience with analog recording consoles and outboard processing gear.
  • Portfolio of recorded, mixed, or mastered projects.
  • Knowledge of various music genres and production styles.
  • Experience with sound design and post-production for video content.
