Job Description

Hiring.zycto, on behalf of a prestigious performing arts institution, is seeking an exceptionally talented and proven Author – Published to join our creative ensemble. This unique opportunity places you at the heart of the artistic process, collaborating closely with directors, dramaturgs, performers, and technical teams to develop original works and adapt existing narratives for the stage. We are looking for a wordsmith with a distinguished publishing record, someone whose command of language can evoke profound emotions, stimulate thought, and craft unforgettable theatrical experiences for diverse audiences. Your contributions will directly enrich the cultural landscape, bringing compelling stories to life within a vibrant community setting.

As an Author – Published, you will be instrumental in shaping the literary voice and narrative direction of various productions. This role requires more than just writing; it demands a deep understanding of theatrical convention, character development, dialogue pacing, and thematic resonance within a live performance context. You will contribute to the rich cultural tapestry of the community, ensuring our storytelling is innovative, relevant, and impactful, resonating deeply with contemporary society. From conceptualizing initial ideas and participating in brainstorms to delivering polished scripts suitable for rehearsal, your creative input will be vital at every stage of production, from initial concept to final curtain.

We envision an individual who can seamlessly blend their established literary style with the dynamic and collaborative nature of theatre. This could involve crafting entirely new plays, adapting classic or contemporary novels and short stories, or developing narratives for multidisciplinary projects that push artistic boundaries. Your work will challenge conventional boundaries, spark crucial conversations, and leave a lasting impression on patrons, fostering a deeper connection between art and audience. The ideal candidate possesses a robust portfolio demonstrating versatility across genres and a clear understanding of how the written word translates into powerful visual and auditory performance. Your ability to receive and integrate feedback constructively, iterate diligently on drafts, and work effectively within rigorous production timelines will be crucial for success in this role. This is a rare chance to expand your artistic horizons beyond traditional publishing, engaging directly with the transformative and immediate power of live performance. If you are a published author eager to see your stories take center stage and contribute meaningfully to a vibrant artistic community, we wholeheartedly encourage you to apply.
