Key Responsibilities
- Prepare vehicle surfaces for painting, including cleaning, sanding, masking, and applying primers/sealers.
- Mix and match paint colours accurately using spectrophotometers and colour theory knowledge to ensure a seamless blend.
- Apply multiple coats of paint, including base coats, clear coats, and specialty finishes, using various spray guns and techniques.
- Inspect painted surfaces for flaws such as runs, sags, and dry spots, and perform necessary corrections.
- Buff, polish, and detail painted surfaces to achieve a high-gloss, factory-like finish.
- Maintain and clean all painting equipment, including spray guns, booths, and mixing areas.
- Adhere strictly to safety procedures and environmental regulations regarding paint disposal and hazardous materials.
- Collaborate with body technicians and other team members to ensure efficient workflow and quality control.
- Continuously update knowledge on new painting technologies, materials, and repair techniques.
- Document work performed and materials used accurately.
Required Skills
- Proven expertise in automotive paint preparation and application techniques.
- Strong understanding of colour theory and precise colour matching abilities.
- Proficient in operating and maintaining various paint spray guns and related equipment.

Preferred Qualifications
- Red Seal Endorsement as an Automotive Refinishing Technician.
- ICBC certification or experience working with insurance claims procedures.
- Experience with waterborne paint systems and advanced refinishing techniques.
- Journeyman certificate in Auto Body Repair and Refinishing.
- Previous experience with custom paintwork or specialized finishes.
- Valid Class 5 Driver's License with a clean driving record.
