Key Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive damage assessments and accurately estimate repair times and costs.
- Execute high-quality body repairs, including straightening frames, replacing panels, and repairing dents, using appropriate tools and techniques.
- Conduct welding, grinding, and sanding operations to prepare surfaces for painting and finishing.
- Ensure all repairs adhere to manufacturer specifications, safety standards, and company quality benchmarks.
- Collaborate effectively with paint technicians, mechanics, and service advisors to ensure seamless repair processes.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, strictly following all health and safety guidelines.
- Operate and maintain a wide range of body shop tools and equipment, including frame machines, welders, and measuring systems.
- Document all work performed, parts used, and any additional findings accurately.
- Continuously learn and adapt to new vehicle technologies and repair methodologies.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as an Auto Body Technician or Panel Beater.
- Proficiency in various body repair techniques (e.g., panel beating, welding, dent removal, filling).
- Strong understanding of vehicle construction, materials, and repair processes.
- Competency in using a range of hand and power tools specific to auto body repair.
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality workmanship.
- Ability to read and interpret technical repair manuals and diagrams.
- Strong problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude.
- Valid UK driving license.
Preferred Qualifications
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Vehicle Body Repair or equivalent qualification.
- Experience with advanced materials like aluminium and composite repairs.
- Familiarity with estimating software systems (e.g., Audatex, Glassmatix).
- I-CAR or ATA (Automotive Technician Accreditation) certifications.
