Hiring.zycto is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Auto Body Technician to join our bustling Vehicle Centre in Walsall. As an integral part of our team, you will be responsible for meticulously repairing damaged vehicle bodies, ensuring every repair meets our rigorous standards for quality, safety, and aesthetic perfection. Key Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive damage assessments and accurately estimate repair times and costs.
  • Execute high-quality body repairs, including straightening frames, replacing panels, and repairing dents, using appropriate tools and techniques.
  • Conduct welding, grinding, and sanding operations to prepare surfaces for painting and finishing.
  • Ensure all repairs adhere to manufacturer specifications, safety standards, and company quality benchmarks.
  • Collaborate effectively with paint technicians, mechanics, and service advisors to ensure seamless repair processes.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, strictly following all health and safety guidelines.
  • Operate and maintain a wide range of body shop tools and equipment, including frame machines, welders, and measuring systems.
  • Document all work performed, parts used, and any additional findings accurately.
  • Continuously learn and adapt to new vehicle technologies and repair methodologies.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience as an Auto Body Technician or Panel Beater.
  • Proficiency in various body repair techniques (e.g., panel beating, welding, dent removal, filling).
  • Strong understanding of vehicle construction, materials, and repair processes.
  • Competency in using a range of hand and power tools specific to auto body repair.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality workmanship.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical repair manuals and diagrams.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude.
  • Valid UK driving license.

Preferred Qualifications

  • NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Vehicle Body Repair or equivalent qualification.
  • Experience with advanced materials like aluminium and composite repairs.
  • Familiarity with estimating software systems (e.g., Audatex, Glassmatix).
  • I-CAR or ATA (Automotive Technician Accreditation) certifications.
