In this pivotal position, you will perform comprehensive diagnostics, execute complex repairs, and conduct preventative maintenance across various vehicle systems, including engines, transmissions, brakes, steering, suspension, electrical, and HVAC. Key Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive diagnostic tests on vehicles using specialized equipment to identify mechanical and electrical issues.
  • Execute complex repairs and replacements of components across various vehicle systems (engine, transmission, brakes, steering, suspension, electrical, HVAC).
  • Conduct routine maintenance services, including oil changes, tire rotations, fluid flushes, and filter replacements.
  • Interpret technical service bulletins (TSBs), wiring diagrams, and diagnostic flow charts to aid in troubleshooting.
  • Communicate findings, repair recommendations, and estimated costs clearly and accurately to service advisors.
  • Document all work performed, parts used, and time spent accurately into the digital service management system.
  • Adhere strictly to all safety protocols, environmental regulations, and company policies.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, including proper disposal of hazardous waste.
  • Stay current with automotive technology, repair techniques, and industry best practices through ongoing training and professional development.
  • Conduct pre-delivery inspections (PDIs) and road tests to ensure vehicle functionality and safety post-repair.

Required Skills

  • Red Seal certification (Interprovincial Journeyperson Automotive Service Technician) or equivalent provincial certification.
  • Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience as a certified automotive technician.
  • Proficiency with modern automotive diagnostic tools and software.
  • In-depth knowledge of automotive electrical systems, engine management, transmission, braking, and steering systems.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking abilities.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Valid Class 5 driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.

Preferred Qualifications

  • ASE certifications (e.g., L1, A series) or specific manufacturer training.
  • Experience with hybrid and electric vehicle diagnostics and repair.
  • Familiarity with dealership service processes and customer service best practices.
  • Proficiency in using digital service inspection tools and tablets.
  • Strong aptitude for learning new technologies and repair methods.
  • Positive attitude and strong work ethic.
