As a Remote Background Investigator, you will be responsible for meticulously researching and verifying candidate information, including employment history, educational qualifications, criminal records, professional licenses, and personal references. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive background investigations, including criminal history, employment verification, education verification, and professional license checks.
- Perform in-depth public records research using various online databases and resources.
- Interview references, former employers, and other contacts to gather relevant information.
- Analyze and interpret collected data to identify potential discrepancies, inconsistencies, or areas of concern.
- Compile accurate, concise, and defensible investigation reports for clients.
- Maintain strict confidentiality and adhere to all data privacy regulations (e.g., PIPEDA, FCRA where applicable).
- Ensure all investigations are conducted ethically and in compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
- Manage multiple cases simultaneously, prioritizing tasks to meet deadlines.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with internal teams, candidates, and third-party sources.
- Stay updated on best practices, legal changes, and new technologies in background investigations.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in conducting background investigations or similar forensic research.
