Hiring.zycto is seeking a dedicated and experienced Industrial Baker to join our bustling production team in Saddleridge, Calgary. Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, mix, and proof various types of doughs and batters according to established recipes and production schedules.
- Operate and monitor industrial baking equipment, including mixers, dough dividers, proofers, moulders, and large-scale ovens.
- Monitor product quality at various stages of production, making adjustments as necessary to ensure consistent results.
- Adhere strictly to all food safety standards, sanitation procedures, and HACCP guidelines.
- Perform routine cleaning and maintenance of equipment and work areas.
- Package finished products efficiently and accurately, ensuring proper labeling and storage.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to optimize production flow and troubleshoot issues.
- Maintain accurate production logs and ingredient inventory records.
- Assist with loading and unloading ingredients and finished products as required.
Required Skills
- Minimum 2 years of experience in an industrial or commercial baking environment.
- Proven ability to operate and maintain large-scale baking equipment.
- Strong understanding of baking principles, including yeast fermentation and dough development.
- Excellent knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations (HACCP, GMP).
- Ability to work efficiently and accurately in a fast-paced production setting.
- Physical stamina to stand for long periods, lift heavy ingredients (up to 50 lbs), and work in varied temperature conditions.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Preferred Qualifications
- Culinary diploma or certification in baking and pastry arts.
- Experience with inventory management and basic record-keeping.
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles in a food production context.
- First Aid and/or Food Handler’s certification.
