Hiring.zycto is seeking a dedicated Bank Teller to join our thriving branch in Cowbridge, Cardiff. This vital role is the face of our bank, serving as the primary point of contact for our valued customers, handling their daily financial transactions, and providing outstanding support. In this role, you will be responsible for a wide array of duties, from processing deposits and withdrawals to assisting with account inquiries and promoting our banking products and services. You’ll operate cash drawers with accuracy, balance daily transactions, and meticulously maintain customer records, all while adhering strictly to banking regulations and company policies. Beyond transactions, a key aspect of this position involves building rapport with customers, understanding their needs, and guiding them towards appropriate financial solutions, whether it’s a new savings account or information about a loan product. Key Responsibilities

  • Process customer transactions accurately and efficiently, including deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, check cashing, and transfers.
  • Maintain and balance a cash drawer daily, ensuring accuracy and adherence to cash handling procedures.
  • Identify customer needs and effectively cross-sell appropriate bank products and services, making referrals to other departments as needed.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and building strong, lasting relationships.
  • Adhere to all bank policies, procedures, and regulatory compliance requirements, including anti-money laundering (AML) and 'Know Your Customer' (KYC) protocols.
  • Assist customers with account opening and maintenance, online banking support, and other general banking queries.
  • Collaborate with branch team members to achieve individual and branch sales and service goals.
  • Perform general administrative duties and maintain a tidy, organized workstation and branch environment.
  • Process night drops and mail deposits, ensuring proper documentation and security.
  • Educate customers on various banking technologies and self-service options available.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in a customer service role, preferably within banking or financial services.
  • Proven experience handling cash and managing transactions with high accuracy.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to perform duties with precision.
  • Proficiency in basic computer applications and the ability to learn new banking software quickly.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a Bank Teller or in a similar financial services role.
  • Knowledge of banking products, services, and regulatory requirements.
  • Experience with CRM software and sales processes.
  • A levels or equivalent vocational qualification.
  • Bilingual skills, especially Welsh, are a plus for serving our local community.
