Key Responsibilities
- Assist bartenders with setting up and breaking down the bar area before, during, and after shifts.
- Maintain adequate stock levels of liquor, beer, wine, ice, glassware, and garnishes throughout service.
- Restock refrigeration units and liquor shelves efficiently and neatly.
- Ensure cleanliness and organization of the bar, including wiping down surfaces, sweeping, mopping, and taking out trash.
- Prepare drink garnishes, mixers, and syrups as instructed by bartenders or supervisors.
- Change beer kegs and liquor bottles as needed, ensuring smooth and uninterrupted service flow.
- Assist with inventory management tasks, including receiving deliveries and reporting low stock items to management.
- Handle and transport heavy items such as cases of beverages, ice buckets, and other bar supplies safely and efficiently.
- Adhere strictly to all health, safety, and hygiene regulations and company policies.
- Provide exceptional support to the entire bar team and contribute positively to a friendly and efficient guest experience.
Required Skills
- No prior barback experience required; full, comprehensive training will be provided.
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and a proactive, 'can-do' attitude.
- Ability to work effectively and maintain composure in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with a willingness to support colleagues.
- Physical ability to lift and carry heavy trays, boxes, and kegs (up to 50 lbs) repeatedly throughout a shift.
- Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by venue events.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- A positive and enthusiastic attitude, coupled with a genuine desire to learn and grow in hospitality.
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent secondary education.
- Smart Serve certification (or willingness to obtain within a specified timeframe upon hiring).
- Prior customer service experience in any capacity, demonstrating an ability to interact positively with people.
