Key Responsibilities
- Masterfully prepare and serve a variety of coffee, tea, and other beverages to consistent quality standards, adhering to recipes and presentation guidelines.
- Operate and maintain all coffee-making equipment, including espresso machines, grinders, and blenders, ensuring cleanliness and proper functionality.
- Greet customers warmly, take accurate orders, and efficiently process payments using a point-of-sale (POS) system.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and inviting work environment, including the coffee bar, seating areas, and restrooms, following health and safety protocols.
- Educate customers on menu items, coffee bean origins, brewing methods, and special offerings, providing recommendations when appropriate.
- Manage inventory of coffee beans, milk, syrups, pastries, and other supplies, communicating replenishment needs to management promptly.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations and food hygiene practices, ensuring a safe and sanitary environment for both staff and customers.
- Provide exceptional customer service, addressing inquiries, resolving complaints, and ensuring a positive experience for every patron.
- Collaborate effectively with team members to ensure smooth operations during peak hours and contribute to a cohesive and supportive work atmosphere.
- Assist with opening and closing procedures, including setting up and breaking down equipment, cleaning tasks, and cash handling reconciliation.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Barista, minimum 6 months in a busy coffee shop or similar environment.
- Exceptional customer service and strong communication skills with a friendly, outgoing personality.
- Ability to work efficiently and calmly in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Fundamental knowledge of coffee preparation techniques, including espresso extraction and milk steaming for latte art.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of quality and cleanliness.
- Basic math skills and proficiency in operating point-of-sale (POS) systems.
Preferred Qualifications
- Food Hygiene Certificate Level 2 (or willingness to obtain upon employment).
- Experience with specialty coffee preparation and knowledge of various brewing methods (e.g., pour-over, Aeropress).
- Familiarity with inventory management and stock rotation.
