Job Description
Hiring.zycto is seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join our dedicated team in Selly Park, Birmingham. This pivotal role requires an individual with a strong foundation in financial record management, payroll processing, and invoice handling. As a Bookkeeper, you will manage daily financial transactions, reconcile accounts, and prepare essential financial reports. Key Responsibilities
- Manage and execute end-to-end payroll processing, including calculations, deductions, and submission of relevant reports.
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable, ensuring timely and accurate invoicing and payment collection.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, ledgers, and journals using accounting software.
- Perform bank and credit card reconciliations on a regular basis to ensure data accuracy.
- Prepare and submit VAT returns and other statutory filings as required.
- Generate and review financial reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports.
- Assist with month-end and year-end close processes.
- Communicate effectively with clients and suppliers regarding payment queries and invoice discrepancies.
- Monitor and manage company expenses, ensuring adherence to budget and company policies.
- Support external auditors during annual audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
- Continuously assess and improve bookkeeping processes for efficiency and accuracy.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar financial role.
- Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, Sage).
- Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting principles.
- Experience with payroll processing and relevant tax regulations.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with integrity.
Preferred Qualifications
- AAT qualification or equivalent.
