Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate a 3-5 ton box truck for local deliveries and pickups throughout the Greater Toronto Area.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, ensuring all safety and mechanical components are in good working order.
- Load and unload goods manually or using appropriate equipment (e.g., pallet jacks, hand trucks) while adhering to safety protocols.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, manifest documents, and all required paperwork.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, warehouse staff, and customers regarding delivery schedules, delays, and issues.
- Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, company policies, and transportation regulations.
- Provide exceptional customer service during interactions at client locations, representing Hiring.zycto professionally.
- Keep the truck clean and tidy, reporting any maintenance or repair needs promptly.
Required Skills
- Valid Class G Driver's License (or equivalent) for driving commercial vehicles in Ontario.
- Minimum 2 years of verifiable experience operating 3-5 ton box trucks.
- Clean driving abstract with no major infractions or accidents.
- Ability to lift and move heavy items (up to 50 lbs) regularly.
- Strong knowledge of Toronto and GTA roadways.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Reliable, punctual, and highly organized.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with electronic logging devices (ELDs).
- Familiarity with various types of freight and proper securing techniques.
- Forklift operator certification is an asset.
- Previous experience in a route delivery or courier service role.
