As a Brake Technician – Specialist, you will be the cornerstone of our brake service department, responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide array of braking systems across various vehicle makes and models. Key Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive inspections and diagnoses of various braking systems (disc, drum, ABS, electronic parking brakes, traction control).
- Conduct precise repairs, replacements, and adjustments of brake components, including pads, rotors, calipers, lines, master cylinders, and anti-lock brake system (ABS) modules.
- Utilize advanced diagnostic tools and software to accurately identify braking system malfunctions and potential safety hazards.
- Execute brake fluid flushes and bleeding procedures, ensuring optimal system performance and longevity.
- Adhere strictly to manufacturer specifications, industry best practices, and all relevant safety standards in repair and maintenance activities.
- Communicate effectively and transparently with service advisors and customers regarding diagnostic findings, recommended repairs, and estimated costs.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, including proper handling and disposal of hazardous materials.
- Stay updated on the latest automotive technologies and braking system advancements through continuous training and professional development.
- Document all services performed, parts used, and test results accurately and completely using our digital service platforms.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 4 years of proven experience as a Brake Technician or Automotive Service Technician with a strong specialization in brakes.
- Advanced knowledge of hydraulic and electronic braking systems (ABS, traction control, stability control).
- Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing disc and drum brake systems for various vehicle types.
- Ability to effectively use advanced diagnostic scan tools and equipment.
- Strong understanding of vehicle safety standards and workshop procedures.
- Exceptional problem-solving, analytical, and diagnostic skills.
- Meticulous attention to detail and precision in all repair work.
- Valid Class 5 Driver's License with a clean driving record.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with team members and customers.
Preferred Qualifications
- Red Seal certification as an Automotive Service Technician.
- Specialized certifications in brake system diagnostics or advanced braking technologies.
