Job Description
Hiring.zycto is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Brewery Worker to join a thriving production team in Calgary. This pivotal role involves contributing to various stages of the brewing and packaging process, ensuring the highest standards of quality and efficiency are consistently met. Key Responsibilities
- Execute thorough cleaning and sanitation of fermentation tanks, bright tanks, brewing vessels, and associated equipment following strict SOPs.
- Operate and monitor various machinery on the bottling, canning, and kegging lines, including fillers, labelers, and palletizers.
- Assist with the transfer of wort, beer, and other liquids between vessels, carefully monitoring temperatures and pressures.
- Perform quality control checks such as dissolved oxygen readings, pH testing, and visual inspections at various stages of production.
- Safely handle and transport raw materials, including malt, hops, and yeast, using pallet jacks or forklifts (if certified).
- Prepare and package finished products for distribution, ensuring accurate labeling and proper stacking.
- Assist in maintaining inventory of brewing ingredients, packaging materials, and cleaning supplies.
- Adhere strictly to all health, safety, and environmental regulations and company policies.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment at all times.
- Collaborate effectively with team members to achieve daily production targets and uphold quality standards.
Required Skills
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) repeatedly throughout a shift.
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
- Strong work ethic and reliability.
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Basic mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
- Comfort working in a wet, noisy, and sometimes dusty environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a brewery, food production, or manufacturing environment.
- Forklift certification or experience operating similar industrial equipment.
- Knowledge of brewing processes and terminology.
- Post-secondary education in brewing, food science, or a related field.
- First Aid certification.
