Key Responsibilities

  • Assist senior inspectors with routine bridge inspections and structural assessments.
  • Prepare and organize all necessary equipment and tools for fieldwork daily.
  • Accurately collect and record field data, including measurements, observations, and photographic documentation.
  • Ensure strict adherence to all company safety protocols and industry regulations on inspection sites.
  • Assist with traffic control setup and tear-down as required to maintain a safe working zone.
  • Perform basic maintenance and calibration of inspection tools and equipment.
  • Document findings thoroughly, including taking clear photographs and creating simple sketches.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, both in the field and at the office.
  • Actively participate in all provided training programs and apply learned inspection methodologies.

Required Skills

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to meticulously follow instructions.
  • Basic computer literacy for data entry and report preparation.
  • Valid Class 5 driver's license (or equivalent) with a clean driving record.
  • Physical ability to perform manual tasks, lift equipment (up to 50 lbs), and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for clear reporting and team interaction.
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety practices and protocols.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new techniques and technologies.

Preferred Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Prior experience in construction, trades, or outdoor labour is an asset but not required.
  • Basic knowledge of hand tools and their safe operation.
  • First Aid/CPR certification.
  • Comfortable working at heights and in confined spaces (training will be provided).
