Key Responsibilities
- Assist senior inspectors with routine bridge inspections and structural assessments.
- Prepare and organize all necessary equipment and tools for fieldwork daily.
- Accurately collect and record field data, including measurements, observations, and photographic documentation.
- Ensure strict adherence to all company safety protocols and industry regulations on inspection sites.
- Assist with traffic control setup and tear-down as required to maintain a safe working zone.
- Perform basic maintenance and calibration of inspection tools and equipment.
- Document findings thoroughly, including taking clear photographs and creating simple sketches.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, both in the field and at the office.
- Actively participate in all provided training programs and apply learned inspection methodologies.
Required Skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to meticulously follow instructions.
- Basic computer literacy for data entry and report preparation.
- Valid Class 5 driver's license (or equivalent) with a clean driving record.
- Physical ability to perform manual tasks, lift equipment (up to 50 lbs), and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for clear reporting and team interaction.
- Demonstrated commitment to safety practices and protocols.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new techniques and technologies.
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Prior experience in construction, trades, or outdoor labour is an asset but not required.
- Basic knowledge of hand tools and their safe operation.
- First Aid/CPR certification.
- Comfortable working at heights and in confined spaces (training will be provided).
