Job Description
This is a pivotal opportunity for a dynamic and experienced Broadcaster to join our thriving team in Ancoats, Manchester. As a Broadcaster – TV & Radio, you will be the voice and face of our content, delivering engaging and informative programming across multiple platforms. You will be instrumental in crafting compelling narratives, conducting live interviews, presenting news, and hosting various shows with professionalism and charisma. Key Responsibilities
- Present live and pre-recorded programming for both television and radio platforms, ensuring high standards of delivery and audience engagement.
- Research, write, and produce compelling content, including scripts, intros, and outros, tailored for various broadcast formats and target demographics.
- Conduct live interviews with guests, experts, and members of the public, maintaining journalistic integrity, impartiality, and fostering engaging dialogue.
- Monitor news feeds, current events, and social media trends to provide timely, accurate, and relevant updates to the audience.
- Operate studio equipment, including microphones, mixing desks, and playout systems, with proficiency or under direct supervision.
- Collaborate effectively with producers, directors, technical operators, and editorial teams to ensure seamless and high-quality broadcast production.
- Engage actively with listeners and viewers through calls, social media, and live interactions during broadcasts, fostering community.
- Adhere strictly to broadcasting codes of conduct, legal guidelines, and company editorial policies to maintain compliance and trust.
- Maintain a strong professional on-air and off-air presence, acting as a positive ambassador for the company and its values.
- Provide voice-overs and narration for various internal and external projects as required, showcasing versatility.
- Participate in content planning meetings and contribute creative ideas for future programming and segment development.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a broadcaster, presenter, or journalist in TV and/or radio, with a strong portfolio.
- Exceptional verbal communication, articulation, and presentation skills suitable for a broad audience.
- Strong journalistic integrity and a deep understanding of media ethics and responsible reporting.
- Ability to think quickly, improvise, and react effectively and calmly in fast-paced live broadcast situations.
- Excellent research, writing, and script-editing abilities with an eye for detail and engaging narrative.
- Proficiency in using broadcast studio equipment and relevant software (e.g., playout systems, recording tools).
- Demonstrated ability to engage and connect authentically with a diverse audience, building rapport.
- High level of professionalism, composure, and resilience under pressure.
- Familiarity with current affairs, news cycles, and popular culture relevant to the target audience.
