Job Description

Hiring.zycto is seeking an experienced and dedicated Building Manager for a live-on-site opportunity within a prestigious residential property in the heart of Park Royal, West Vancouver. This unique role offers the chance to immerse yourself fully in the community you serve, ensuring the highest standards of property management and resident satisfaction. Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee all aspects of daily building operations and maintenance, including preventative and reactive repairs.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for residents, addressing inquiries, concerns, and emergencies promptly and professionally.
  • Manage tenant relations, including move-ins, move-outs, lease renewals, and dispute resolution.
  • Supervise and coordinate maintenance staff, contractors, and vendors to ensure timely and quality service.
  • Conduct regular property inspections to identify and address maintenance needs, safety hazards, and ensure cleanliness.
  • Administer and enforce building rules, regulations, and bylaws, ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation.
  • Manage building security systems and protocols, ensuring a safe and secure environment for residents.
  • Prepare and manage operating budgets, track expenses, and contribute to financial reporting.
  • Coordinate and oversee renovation projects and capital improvements.
  • Maintain accurate records of all building activities, tenant information, and financial transactions.
  • Respond to after-hours emergencies as required by the live-on-site nature of the role.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 4 years of progressive experience in property management or building management.
  • Proven ability to manage residential properties and tenant relations effectively.
  • Strong knowledge of building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, security).
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and property management software.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage time efficiently.
  • Exceptional problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada and able to reside on-site.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Relevant post-secondary education or certification in Property Management (e.g., RPA, CPM, or similar).
  • Experience with Yardi, BuildingLink, or similar property management platforms.
  • Trade background or certifications (e.g., plumbing, electrical) are a significant asset.
  • Knowledge of Residential Tenancy Act (British Columbia).
