Key Responsibilities
- Operate passenger buses safely and efficiently along designated routes.
- Adhere strictly to published timetables, ensuring punctuality for all services.
- Provide exceptional customer service, assisting passengers with enquiries and ensuring a pleasant journey.
- Process fares and issue tickets accurately using onboard ticketing systems.
- Conduct pre-service vehicle checks, reporting any defects or maintenance requirements promptly.
- Maintain the cleanliness and tidy presentation of the bus interior.
- Respond calmly and effectively to unforeseen circumstances, road hazards, or passenger incidents.
- Comply with all traffic laws, company policies, and health and safety regulations.
- Manage passenger boardings and alighting, including assistance for those with mobility challenges.
Required Skills
- Valid UK PCV (Passenger Carrying Vehicle) licence with no disqualifications.
- Valid CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence) qualification.
- Proven experience in driving passenger vehicles, ideally buses.
- Excellent knowledge of road safety regulations and driving techniques.
- Strong customer service skills with a friendly and approachable demeanor.
- Ability to adhere to strict timetables and maintain punctuality.
- Good verbal communication skills in English.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with Kingston upon Hull city routes and local geography.
