Your expertise will be crucial from pre-production planning, including equipment setup and camera testing, through to the live shoot and potential post-production collaboration. Key Responsibilities

  • Operate a variety of professional camera equipment (e.g., DSLRs, Mirrorless, Cinema Cameras) for both studio and on-location shoots.
  • Set up, test, and maintain camera gear, lenses, lighting, and support equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Collaborate with directors, producers, and gaffers to achieve desired visual styles and shot compositions.
  • Execute camera movements, framing, and focus transitions with precision and artistic flair.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues quickly and effectively during productions.
  • Adhere to strict production schedules and timelines while maintaining high-quality output.
  • Safely transport and handle valuable camera equipment to various locations.
  • Contribute creative ideas during pre-production meetings and on-set discussions.
  • Ensure footage is properly recorded, logged, and handed over for post-production.
  • Stay updated with the latest camera technology, trends, and best practices in cinematography.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience as a Camera Operator in both studio and field settings.
  • Expertise in operating professional video cameras, lenses, and associated accessories.
  • Strong understanding of lighting principles and techniques for various shooting environments.
  • Proficiency in shot composition, framing, and visual storytelling.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and adapt to dynamic production environments.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving capabilities for technical on-set challenges.
  • A valid UK driving license and the ability to travel for shoots.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Degree or diploma in Film Production, Cinematography, Media Studies, or a related field.
  • Experience with live broadcast operations or multi-camera setups.
  • Familiarity with various camera stabilizers (e.g., gimbals, dollies, sliders).
  • Basic knowledge of video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve).
  • Portfolio or showreel demonstrating diverse camera operating experience.
