Job Description
Hiring.zycto is actively seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Full-Time Cardiac Sonographer to join our dedicated team in Maryvale, Toronto. This pivotal role involves performing advanced cardiac ultrasound procedures, contributing significantly to accurate diagnostic imaging that directly impacts patient treatment plans and outcomes. Key Responsibilities
- Perform a full range of adult echocardiograms including 2D, M-mode, Doppler, and color flow imaging with precision and accuracy.
- Obtain and record patient medical history, explaining procedures clearly to ensure patient comfort and cooperation.
- Operate and maintain ultrasound equipment, ensuring optimal image quality and equipment functionality.
- Identify and document abnormalities, providing clear and concise preliminary findings to cardiologists.
- Assist cardiologists with advanced procedures such as stress echocardiography or transesophageal echocardiography (TEE) as required.
- Maintain accurate patient records and manage imaging data in compliance with privacy regulations.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated and effective patient care.
- Adhere to all safety protocols, quality assurance standards, and departmental policies.
- Participate in ongoing professional development and continuing education to stay current with advancements in cardiac sonography.
Required Skills
- Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) or equivalent certification (e.g., Sonography Canada – CRCS).
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Cardiac Sonographer in an acute care or clinical setting.
- Proficiency in performing comprehensive adult echocardiograms.
- Excellent understanding of cardiovascular anatomy, physiology, and pathology.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a patient-centered approach.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards.
- Competency with electronic medical record (EMR) systems and PACS.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with pediatric echocardiography or vascular ultrasound.
- BCLS and/or ACLS certification.
- Proficiency in additional languages relevant to the diverse Toronto population.
- Experience with advanced cardiac imaging techniques and protocols.
