Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and empathetic Caregiver to join our vibrant team at a residential facility in Netherfield, Nottingham. Key Responsibilities
- Provide person-centred care, assisting residents with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Administer medication accurately and safely, following prescribed procedures and maintaining detailed records.
- Support residents with mobility, transfers, and positioning, ensuring their comfort and safety.
- Assist with meal preparation, feeding, and monitoring dietary intake, promoting healthy eating habits.
- Engage residents in social activities, hobbies, and therapeutic exercises to enhance their quality of life.
- Observe and report any changes in residents' physical, emotional, or mental condition to senior staff.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organised living environment for residents.
- Communicate effectively and empathetically with residents, their families, and healthcare professionals.
- Adhere strictly to all company policies, care plans, and health and safety regulations.
- Document care provided accurately and in a timely manner.
Required Skills
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a caregiving role, preferably within a residential setting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated empathy, patience, and a compassionate nature.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Reliable, punctual, and flexible to work various shifts.
- Basic IT literacy for record-keeping and communication.
- Understanding of person-centred care principles.
Preferred Qualifications
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent).
- First Aid certification.
- Experience with dementia care or supporting individuals with complex needs.
- Knowledge of local safeguarding policies and procedures.
