Key Responsibilities
- Process customer transactions accurately and efficiently using point-of-sale (POS) systems.
- Handle cash, credit/debit card payments, and other forms of tender, ensuring proper reconciliation at shift end.
- Provide excellent customer service by greeting customers, answering questions, and resolving complaints in a professional manner.
- Maintain a clean and organised checkout area and assist with general store tidiness.
- Assist with stocking shelves, arranging displays, and ensuring products are correctly priced.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including those related to cash handling and security.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations and a positive shopping experience for all customers.
- Be available for scheduled day and night shifts, demonstrating reliability and punctuality.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in cash handling and operating POS systems (minimum 6 months preferred).
- Strong customer service and interpersonal communication skills.
- Excellent mathematical aptitude and attention to detail for accurate transaction processing.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced retail or service environment.
- Reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 10kg as required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a cashier or customer-facing role, especially within a retail or hospitality setting.
- Familiarity with various payment methods and basic inventory management.
- Full availability to work flexible hours, including weekends, public holidays, and both day/night shifts.
