Job Description

Hiring.zycto is actively seeking a highly vigilant and experienced CCTV Operator to join our dedicated security team in Cardonald, Glasgow. In this critical role, you will be the eyes and ears of our operations, providing essential surveillance and monitoring services to ensure the safety and security of our premises and personnel. Your primary responsibility will involve continuous monitoring of multiple camera feeds, identifying and reporting suspicious activities, and coordinating responses with on-site security teams and emergency services. Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor multiple CCTV screens diligently for suspicious activities, security breaches, and potential threats.
  • Operate and maintain surveillance equipment, including cameras, monitors, and recording systems.
  • Respond promptly and appropriately to alarms and incidents, escalating critical situations to management or emergency services.
  • Document all incidents, observations, and actions taken in detailed, accurate reports.
  • Communicate effectively and professionally with on-site security personnel, management, and other relevant departments.
  • Conduct regular system checks to ensure all equipment is fully operational and report any malfunctions or defects.
  • Assist in investigations by meticulously reviewing recorded footage and extracting relevant information.
  • Adhere strictly to all data protection, privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR), and company security protocols.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience (minimum 2 years) as a CCTV Operator or in a similar surveillance role.
  • Excellent observational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Ability to remain calm, focused, and effective under pressure.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for reporting and coordination.
  • Proficiency in operating various CCTV software and surveillance equipment.
  • Solid understanding of security protocols, emergency procedures, and incident response.
  • Basic IT literacy for system navigation, data entry, and report generation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Valid SIA Licence (CCTV Public Space Surveillance).
  • First Aid certification.
  • Experience with advanced video analytics or AI-driven surveillance systems.
  • Previous experience working within a busy control room environment.
  • Knowledge of local geographical area of operations within Glasgow.
