Job Description

Hiring.zycto is seeking a dedicated and experienced CCTV Operator to join our dynamic surveillance team in Finaghy, Belfast. As a CCTV Operator, you will be responsible for the continuous monitoring of a comprehensive network of surveillance cameras, meticulously observing activities, detecting unusual behavior, and responding swiftly to potential threats or incidents.

Your day-to-day will involve live monitoring of multiple screens, identifying and logging suspicious activities, and providing crucial real-time information to on-site security teams and, when necessary, emergency services. You’ll be a key player in incident management, documenting events accurately, reviewing footage for investigations, and ensuring compliance with all data protection and privacy regulations. The ability to remain calm and decisive under pressure is paramount, as is your commitment to strict confidentiality and adherence to established security protocols. Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct continuous, proactive surveillance of all CCTV monitors across designated areas.
  • Identify and promptly report any suspicious activities, security breaches, or potential threats to relevant personnel and authorities.
  • Operate and manage advanced CCTV equipment, including PTZ cameras, digital recording systems, and incident management software.
  • Meticulously log all incidents, observations, and actions taken, ensuring accurate and detailed record-keeping.
  • Review and retrieve CCTV footage for investigations, providing clear and concise evidence when required.
  • Liaise effectively with on-site security teams, management, and emergency services during critical incidents.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality regarding all information and footage obtained through surveillance activities.
  • Adhere to all company policies, security procedures, and data protection regulations (e.g., GDPR).
  • Conduct regular system checks to ensure all CCTV equipment is fully operational and report any malfunctions.
  • Contribute to the development and improvement of security protocols and operational procedures.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience as a CCTV Operator or in a similar surveillance role.
  • Exceptional observational skills with a keen eye for detail and identifying anomalies.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for accurate reporting and clear liaison.
  • Proficient in operating CCTV systems, surveillance software, and general IT applications.
  • Ability to remain calm, focused, and decisive under pressure.
  • A high level of integrity and commitment to confidentiality.
  • Understanding of security principles, protocols, and emergency procedures.
  • Excellent time management and organizational abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Valid SIA (Security Industry Authority) CCTV Licence.
  • Previous experience in a high-security environment.
  • Knowledge of data protection regulations (e.g., GDPR) related to CCTV operations.
  • First Aid certification.
  • Relevant security qualifications or certifications.
