Key Responsibilities
- Assist patients with daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and feeding.
- Monitor and record vital signs, intake and output, and document observations accurately in patient charts.
- Help patients with mobility, transfers, and ambulation, ensuring safety and comfort.
- Provide emotional support and companionship to patients, fostering a comforting environment.
- Assist nurses with medical procedures, treatments, and examinations as directed.
- Maintain a clean, tidy, and safe environment for patients, adhering to infection control protocols.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
- Report any changes in patient condition or behavior promptly to the nursing staff.
- Ensure patient privacy and confidentiality at all times, adhering to all ethical guidelines.
Required Skills
- Valid Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in the UK.
- Proven experience in patient care, preferably in a hospital or care home setting.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong observational and reporting abilities.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Compassionate and empathetic approach to patient care.
- Physical stamina to perform duties that may involve lifting, standing, and walking for extended periods.
- Adherence to all health and safety regulations and protocols.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Prior experience working with diverse patient populations.
