Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise, train, and motivate a team of cleaning operatives to ensure high performance and adherence to standards.
  • Develop and implement daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning schedules for all areas of the public building.
  • Conduct regular inspections to ensure cleaning standards are consistently met and address any deficiencies promptly.
  • Ensure strict compliance with health, safety, and COSHH regulations at all times.
  • Manage cleaning supplies and equipment inventory, ordering new stock as required and ensuring proper maintenance of machinery.
  • Liaise effectively with building management and other stakeholders to coordinate cleaning activities and report issues.
  • Provide hands-on cleaning support when necessary, demonstrating best practices.
  • Conduct performance reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members.
  • Implement and monitor waste management and recycling procedures.
  • Maintain accurate records of attendance, inspections, and incidents.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in a supervisory cleaning role, preferably within a public or commercial building.
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Thorough knowledge of cleaning methods, products, and equipment.
  • Understanding of health and safety regulations, including COSHH.
  • Ability to organise and prioritise tasks effectively.
