Job Description

Are you a highly motivated and experienced Cloud Engineer with a passion for designing, implementing, and managing cutting-edge cloud solutions across AWS and Azure platforms? Hiring.zycto is seeking a talented individual to join our growing team in Holywood, Belfast. This pivotal role involves hands-on deployment, configuration, and maintenance of server infrastructure, ensuring high availability, scalability, and security for our diverse range of clients. You will be instrumental in migrating on-premise systems to the cloud, optimizing existing cloud resources, and developing automation scripts to streamline operations. We are looking for a proactive problem-solver who thrives in a fast-paced environment and possesses a deep understanding of cloud best practices, network architecture, and cybersecurity principles.

As a Cloud Engineer, you will work closely with development, operations, and project management teams to deliver robust and efficient cloud services. You will be responsible for the full lifecycle of cloud infrastructure, from initial design and provisioning to monitoring, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement. This includes managing virtual machines, containers, databases, storage solutions, and network components within both AWS and Azure ecosystems. A strong focus on infrastructure as code (IaC) principles and experience with tools like Terraform or CloudFormation is essential. Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and manage scalable, highly available, and secure cloud infrastructure on AWS and Azure platforms.
  • Perform server deployment, configuration, and maintenance, including virtual machines, containers, and serverless compute.
  • Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, or ARM templates.
  • Monitor cloud environments for performance, security, and cost optimization, implementing necessary adjustments.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex infrastructure issues, ensuring minimal downtime and effective root cause analysis.
  • Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines for automated deployments and infrastructure changes.
  • Collaborate with development and operations teams to integrate applications and services with cloud infrastructure.
  • Ensure compliance with security standards and industry best practices for data protection and access management.
  • Participate in migration projects, moving on-premise workloads to cloud environments.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to internal teams and stakeholders regarding cloud architecture and solutions.

Required Skills

  • Expertise in AWS services (EC2, S3, RDS, VPC, Lambda, IAM, CloudWatch, etc.)
  • Expertise in Azure services (VMs, Blob Storage, Azure SQL, VNet, Azure Functions, Azure AD, Monitor, etc.)
  • Strong experience with server deployment, configuration, and management (Windows/Linux)
  • Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation, ARM templates)
  • Scripting proficiency (e.g., Python, PowerShell, Bash)
  • Solid understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, VPNs, Firewalls, Load Balancers)
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, Azure DevOps, GitLab CI)
  • Familiarity with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Strong communication and collaboration abilities

Preferred Qualifications

  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate/Professional
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate/Azure Solutions Architect Expert
  • Experience with configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet, Chef)
  • Familiarity with database administration (SQL, NoSQL)
  • Knowledge of monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack)
  • Experience with agile development methodologies
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
