Job Description
Hiring.zycto is seeking enthusiastic and dedicated individuals to join our vibrant team as a Coffee Shop Team Member in Hilo, Hawaii. This is an exciting opportunity for someone eager for an immediate start, ready to immerse themselves in a fast-paced yet rewarding environment. As a key member of our team, you will be the face of our shop, responsible for delivering exceptional customer service with a warm smile and a genuine aloha spirit. You’ll master the art of coffee preparation, from perfectly pulled espresso shots to beautifully crafted lattes, while also preparing a range of other delicious beverages and light food items. We pride ourselves on creating a welcoming atmosphere where both our team and our customers feel like family. This role involves more than just making coffee; it’s about building connections, ensuring cleanliness and organization, and contributing to the overall success and positive energy of our shop. You’ll handle transactions with accuracy, maintain inventory, and keep our space sparkling clean, always upholding the highest standards of food safety and hygiene. Key Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly, take orders accurately, and provide outstanding service with a positive attitude.
- Prepare and serve a variety of coffee beverages, teas, smoothies, and other menu items according to established recipes and quality standards.
- Operate point-of-sale (POS) systems, handle cash and credit card transactions, and maintain accurate cash drawer reconciliation.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the coffee bar, seating areas, restrooms, and back-of-house areas throughout shifts.
- Stock and replenish inventory, including coffee beans, milk, pastries, and supplies, ensuring product availability.
- Adhere to all food safety and hygiene regulations, including proper handling of food and beverages.
- Assist with opening and closing procedures, including cleaning equipment, brewing fresh coffee, and preparing for the next shift.
- Resolve customer concerns promptly and professionally, escalating issues to management when necessary.
- Collaborate effectively with team members to ensure smooth operations and a cohesive work environment.

- Basic math skills for cash handling and order accuracy

Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a coffee shop, cafe, or food service environment
- Knowledge of coffee preparation techniques (barista skills)
- Current Hawaii Food Handler's Card
- Experience with POS systems
