Key Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently load and unload incoming and outgoing shipments, often using pallet jacks or hand trucks.
- Pick and pack orders accurately according to customer specifications within the cold storage environment.
- Assist with inventory management, including counting, organizing, and relocating products.
- Operate warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks or reach trucks (training provided as needed) in a safe manner.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the cold storage warehouse, ensuring adherence to hygiene standards.
- Perform routine quality checks on products and packaging, reporting any discrepancies or damages.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety policies and procedures, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Collaborate effectively with team members to achieve daily operational goals.
Required Skills
- Ability to work in cold temperatures (typically 0-40°F) for extended periods.
- Physical stamina and ability to lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly and stand/walk for long durations.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in tasks.
- Reliable transportation to and from the job site.
- Basic mathematical skills for counting and inventory.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new procedures.
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Previous experience in a warehouse or production environment (even non-cold storage).
- Experience operating material handling equipment (e.g., pallet jack, forklift).
- Familiarity with inventory management systems.
