Hiring.zycto is seeking a highly skilled and diligent Compliance Officer with a strong background in Audit, Legal, and Governance to join our dedicated team in Aberdeen. Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive compliance policies and procedures in line with relevant regulatory frameworks and internal governance standards.
- Conduct regular compliance audits and risk assessments to identify potential areas of non-compliance and implement corrective actions.
- Monitor legislative and regulatory developments, advising management on their potential impact on the company's operations and strategies.
- Act as a primary point of contact for regulatory inquiries and examinations, ensuring timely and accurate responses.
- Collaborate with legal counsel to interpret complex laws and regulations, providing guidance to business units.
- Oversee the development and delivery of compliance training programs for all employees, ensuring awareness and understanding of obligations.
- Manage and investigate compliance-related incidents, breaches, and whistleblowing reports, ensuring appropriate resolution and reporting.
- Prepare detailed compliance reports for senior management and the Board, highlighting key risks, issues, and progress on mitigation efforts.
- Review and approve marketing materials, contracts, and internal communications for regulatory compliance.
- Assist in the development and enhancement of the company's internal control framework.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Law, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 4 years of progressive experience in a compliance, audit, or legal role, preferably within a regulated industry.
- In-depth knowledge of UK regulatory frameworks (e.g., FCA, GDPR) and corporate governance principles.
- Proven ability to interpret complex legal and regulatory requirements and translate them into actionable business policies.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of influencing stakeholders at all levels.
- High level of integrity, ethical conduct, and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in compliance management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree or professional certification (e.g., ICA Diploma in Compliance, Certified Compliance & Ethics Professional – CCEP).
- Experience with enterprise risk management (ERM) frameworks.
- Previous experience in the financial services, energy, or legal sectors in Scotland.
- Familiarity with data privacy regulations and cybersecurity compliance.
