Hiring.zycto is actively seeking a highly skilled and experienced Concrete Finisher to join our dynamic and growing team in Toronto. Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, level, and smooth concrete surfaces using a variety of hand and power tools (e.g., screeds, trowels, floats).
- Apply various concrete finishing techniques, including but not limited to broom, exposed aggregate, stamped, and polished finishes.
- Read and accurately interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine concrete requirements and finishing scope.
- Set up, dismantle, and maintain concrete forms, ensuring proper alignment and bracing.
- Operate power vibrators, ride-on trowels, screeds, and other heavy equipment safely and efficiently.
- Inspect sub-grade, prepare base, and ensure proper compaction before concrete placement.
- Pour and spread concrete, ensuring even distribution and consistency.
- Monitor concrete curing processes to prevent cracking and ensure optimal strength.
- Repair and restore damaged concrete, including patching, grinding, and sealing.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety policies, industry standards, and provincial regulations.
- Provide guidance, training, and mentorship to apprentices and less experienced concrete finishers.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring tools and equipment are properly cared for.
Required Skills
- Minimum 4 years of proven experience as a Concrete Finisher.
- Proficiency in all aspects of concrete preparation, pouring, and various finishing techniques.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings.
- Expertise in operating a wide range of hand and power tools, including ride-on trowels and power screeds.
- Strong understanding of concrete properties, mixes, and curing methods.
- Thorough knowledge of workplace safety procedures and regulations.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality craftsmanship.
- Physical stamina, manual dexterity, and the ability to lift heavy materials and work in various weather conditions.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Red Seal certification as a Concrete Finisher.
- Experience with specialized concrete applications (e.g., decorative concrete, structural repairs).
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- First Aid and CPR certification.
- Additional certifications for heavy equipment operation (e.g., forklift, boom lift).
