Key Responsibilities
- Assist skilled tradespeople (carpenters, masons, electricians, etc.) with various tasks as directed.
- Prepare and maintain construction sites, ensuring cleanliness, organization, and adherence to safety standards.
- Safely transport materials, tools, and equipment around the job site using appropriate methods.
- Learn to safely and efficiently operate basic hand and power tools under supervision.
- Perform general labour duties, including digging, sweeping, debris removal, and demolition assistance.
- Strictly adhere to all company and regulatory health and safety policies and procedures.
- Actively participate in all training sessions and demonstrate a proactive willingness to learn new skills and techniques.
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to ensure smooth project execution.
- Contribute to a positive, productive, and respectful team environment on all job sites.
Required Skills
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and punctuality.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions meticulously.
- Basic understanding of safety principles and a commitment to safe work practices.
- Physical stamina and ability to perform demanding tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective teamwork.
- A keen eagerness to learn, adapt, and develop new construction-related skills.
- Valid G-class driver's license and a clean driving record (preferred, but not strictly required).
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a physical labour role (e.g., landscaping, warehousing, manufacturing).
- Basic knowledge of construction terminology and processes.
- First Aid/CPR certification.
- WHMIS certification.
