Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist skilled tradespeople (carpenters, masons, electricians, etc.) with various tasks as directed.
  • Prepare and maintain construction sites, ensuring cleanliness, organization, and adherence to safety standards.
  • Safely transport materials, tools, and equipment around the job site using appropriate methods.
  • Learn to safely and efficiently operate basic hand and power tools under supervision.
  • Perform general labour duties, including digging, sweeping, debris removal, and demolition assistance.
  • Strictly adhere to all company and regulatory health and safety policies and procedures.
  • Actively participate in all training sessions and demonstrate a proactive willingness to learn new skills and techniques.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Contribute to a positive, productive, and respectful team environment on all job sites.

Required Skills

  • Strong work ethic, reliability, and punctuality.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions meticulously.
  • Basic understanding of safety principles and a commitment to safe work practices.
  • Physical stamina and ability to perform demanding tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective teamwork.
  • A keen eagerness to learn, adapt, and develop new construction-related skills.
  • Valid G-class driver's license and a clean driving record (preferred, but not strictly required).

Preferred Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in a physical labour role (e.g., landscaping, warehousing, manufacturing).
  • Basic knowledge of construction terminology and processes.
  • First Aid/CPR certification.
  • WHMIS certification.
