Job Description

Hiring.zycto is seeking a diligent and meticulous Construction Cleaner – Post Build to join our dynamic team in Strathcona, Vancouver. This isn’t just about sweeping up; it’s about playing a crucial role in bringing newly constructed or renovated buildings to their pristine, move-in ready condition. You will be responsible for a wide range of cleaning tasks, from the initial rough clean, removing construction debris and waste, to the final, detailed sparkle clean, involving fine dust removal, window cleaning, floor scrubbing, and sanitization of fixtures. This role requires physical stamina, reliability, and the ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform rough cleaning of construction sites, including removal of debris, trash, and waste materials.
  • Conduct thorough final cleaning, which involves dusting, wiping, vacuuming, mopping, and polishing all surfaces.
  • Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors using appropriate cleaning solutions and equipment.
  • Scrub, strip, wax, and buff floors as required, ensuring they are spotless and safe.
  • Sanitize restrooms, kitchens, and other common areas, adhering to hygiene standards.
  • Operate various cleaning equipment safely and effectively (e.g., floor buffers, power washers, vacuum cleaners).
  • Adhere strictly to all health and safety regulations and company policies on construction sites.
  • Report any maintenance needs, safety hazards, or damaged items to the supervisor.
  • Work efficiently and collaboratively with other construction teams to meet project deadlines.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in construction cleaning or industrial cleaning.
  • Ability to operate cleaning equipment safely and effectively.
  • Strong attention to detail and a meticulous approach to cleaning.
  • Physical stamina and ability to perform strenuous tasks, including lifting and standing for extended periods.
  • Reliability and strong work ethic.
  • Understanding of safety procedures on construction sites.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • WHMIS certification.
  • First Aid/CPR certification.
  • Experience with specialized cleaning chemicals and techniques.
  • A valid Class 5 driver's license and access to reliable transportation.
