Key Responsibilities

  • Safely and efficiently transport construction materials, tools, equipment, and documents to various job sites and suppliers across the GTA.
  • Load and unload company vehicles, ensuring items are secured properly to prevent damage during transit.
  • Verify accuracy of orders against delivery manifests and obtain necessary signatures upon delivery and pickup.
  • Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, company safety policies, and site-specific regulations.
  • Perform routine vehicle inspections and maintenance checks (fuel, oil, tires) to ensure optimal operating condition.
  • Communicate effectively with dispatch, site managers, and team members regarding delivery status, delays, or issues.
  • Maintain a clean and organized company vehicle.
  • Assist with warehouse duties or site organization as required during downtime.
  • Handle materials with care, ensuring they are protected from damage.
  • Accurately complete all necessary paperwork, including logs, reports, and delivery receipts.

Required Skills

  • Valid G Class Driver's License with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to lift and carry heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) regularly.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
  • Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance and safety checks.
  • Comfortable working independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in reading maps and using GPS navigation systems.

Preferred Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in a delivery or driving role (even personal driving experience counts).
  • Familiarity with the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) road network and construction site environments.
  • Basic understanding of construction materials or logistics.
