Key Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently transport construction materials, tools, equipment, and documents to various job sites and suppliers across the GTA.
- Load and unload company vehicles, ensuring items are secured properly to prevent damage during transit.
- Verify accuracy of orders against delivery manifests and obtain necessary signatures upon delivery and pickup.
- Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, company safety policies, and site-specific regulations.
- Perform routine vehicle inspections and maintenance checks (fuel, oil, tires) to ensure optimal operating condition.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, site managers, and team members regarding delivery status, delays, or issues.
- Maintain a clean and organized company vehicle.
- Assist with warehouse duties or site organization as required during downtime.
- Handle materials with care, ensuring they are protected from damage.
- Accurately complete all necessary paperwork, including logs, reports, and delivery receipts.
Required Skills
- Valid G Class Driver's License with a clean driving record.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) regularly.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance and safety checks.
- Comfortable working independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in reading maps and using GPS navigation systems.
Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a delivery or driving role (even personal driving experience counts).
- Familiarity with the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) road network and construction site environments.
- Basic understanding of construction materials or logistics.
