Key Responsibilities

  • Perform various physical tasks, including digging, lifting, carrying, and moving materials on job sites.
  • Assist skilled tradespersons (e.g., carpenters, masons, plumbers) with their tasks as directed.
  • Load and unload construction materials, tools, and equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment by removing debris, trash, and hazardous materials.
  • Operate basic hand and power tools (e.g., drills, saws, shovels, rakes) under supervision.
  • Adhere strictly to all company safety procedures and wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times.
  • Help with site preparation tasks such as clearing obstacles, setting up barriers, and site security.
  • Participate in demolition activities, breaking down structures, and hauling away waste.
  • Provide support for concrete pours, including mixing, spreading, and finishing.
  • Perform general site clean-up at the end of each workday.

Required Skills

  • Physical fitness and stamina to perform demanding tasks for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift and carry heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) regularly and safely.
  • Strong work ethic, reliability, and punctuality.
  • Willingness to learn new skills and take direction from supervisors and experienced team members.
  • Basic understanding of workplace safety principles and a commitment to following them.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as a vital part of a team.
  • Manual dexterity and good coordination.
  • Comfort working outdoors in various weather conditions.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Valid Class 5 driver's license with a clean driving abstract.

  • Previous experience in a labor-intensive role (e.g., landscaping, warehouse, farm work).
  • WHMIS (Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System) certification.
